Kobe Bryant is legit, and he proved it on the NBA's biggest stage.
In a performance that validated all his hype, Bryant -- bum ankle and all -- came to his team's rescue after Shaquille O'Neal fouled out in overtime. Bryant made three of the most clutch shots of his young career to lead the Los Angeles Lakers to a 120-118 victory over the Indiana Pacers and a 3-1 lead in the NBA Finals.

Internet Satellites Going Cheap
With help from NASA, Wingo plans to build 544 orbiting Web servers from Apple's G4 Power Macintosh computers and a souped-up version of the company's Airport wireless networking technology.
Swooping over the globe in low-Earth orbit, the satellites would be accessible from cell phones, computers fitted with inexpensive PC cards, or clip-on wireless modems for devices like Palm's handhelds.

The pic is slated to roll this summer on a yet-to-be-determined Gotham street, and the entire shoot is expected to be completed within a couple of weeks. To accomplish this, Schumacher will do an extensive amount of rehearsing, and it's envisioned that Fox 2000 will employ Internet technology by streaming footage of the rehearsal and shooting process, to show film students and those interested in the process how a movie gets made.

When Stock Options Cost You More Than They Are Worth
A nice little article about how stock options can kill you in taxes. Explains how some stock options holders got hurt badly by some tax laws that force them to pay taxes on the profit at the point they excercised the options rather than when they sold them. There's a fun example of someone having to pay $90,000 in taxes on options worth $60,000.

Universal sues; Myers rebukes
My agreement with Universal has always been that the movie would not be made until I approved the script. I informed Universal that the script does not work and it needs more time to be fixed. The question from the beginning has always been can 'Sprockets' move from beyond a sketch into being a full-length feature film, and despite my greatest efforts, I have yet to achieve that. I cannot, in good conscience, accept $20 million and cheat moviegoers who pay their hard-earned money to see my work by making a movie with an unacceptable script."
