Census forms can be filled out online
Only the census short form -- which contains just seven questions - can be answered over the Internet at www.census.gov. A far more detailed, 53-question long form, to be sent to about 19 million homes, gathers more information through a scientifically random sample. The long form can be answered only by mail. 7 questions vs 53 questions. hmmm... which should i choose?

Microsoft hires teen advisers
Furdyk is a perfect example. He started his first company, MyDesktop.com, when he was 15 with a friend from Australia whom he never met offline. The company was sold a year later, and he now works on his second company, called BuyBuddy.com, which helps users understand and purchase technology products. He plans to continue working for the Toronto-based company "virtually" while working with Microsoft here.

The Smoking Gun Nails a Millionaire
At a time when Internet media increasingly get gobbled up by corporate conglomerates, The Smoking Gun is a throwback to the early '90s age of Web publishing. Editors Bastone and Daniel Green do just about everything themselves – reporting, writing and publishing. It's essentially a hobby, as both men have full-time jobs. Site designers Mike Essl and Barbara Glauber, who is Bastone's wife, round out the team. "We're doing this on the side," Bastone admits. "We're not even doing this with our minds."

Doctors use Internet in daily heart monitoring
'In a science fiction-sounding experiment, doctors are implanting tiny monitors inside the hearts of 120 patients to painlessly record every twinge, 24 hours a day. Sit in front of a doctor's wireless transmitter and the monitor beams the recordings into a computer for diagnosis. But by spring, the study's participants won't have to leave home, instead spending five minutes a day beaming their Chronicle heart monitor's recordings to a doctor's secure Web site via a telephone line.'
